Myth, Symbol & Persona

Melbourne, Sydney, New York City and Kyoto

2022–2025

The Lover

Love, desire, romance, and vulnerability flowing through the city.

The Lover follows moments of closeness, desire, trust and vulnerability as they surface in public. Bodies lean together, hands seek contact and attention narrows around another person while the city continues around them.

The archetype is not limited to romance. It appears wherever attachment heightens the world and makes a person available to beauty, risk or loss. The same openness that creates connection can also unsettle boundaries or expose dependence.

The photographs do not identify the relationships they show or decide whether each gesture will endure. They stay with the visible charge of attraction and devotion, asking how private feeling becomes legible through bodies in shared space.
