Hire me for your next project
I’m a Brooklyn-based photographer working across street, documentary, and editorial photography. My archive spans New York City, Melbourne, Tokyo, Kyoto, Los Angeles, and Sydney — built over years of working in public space with a camera. I’m available for assignments on a project-by-project basis.
What I do
- Editorial and documentary photography
I am open to photographing for publications, institutions, and independent projects that need pictures with a genuine point of view — not stock aesthetics. My background in journalism means I can work fast in difficult or unpredictable environments, and I know how to find the image inside a situation that isn’t staged for a camera. - Portrait and street photography
I work candidly. That means I photograph people as they actually are — in motion, in conversation, in the middle of something — rather than posed and waiting. If you need portraits that feel lived-in rather than produced, this is what I do. - Post-production and analogue film digitisation
I handle my own darkroom scanning and digital processing, and can take on post-production work too. I work with both analogue and digital originals. - Image licensing
I have an extensive archive of existing images available for editorial licensing. See the licensing page for details.
How to get in touch
Email adaminglis.photo@gmail.com with a brief description of your project — what you’re making, when you need it, and where. I’ll respond with questions, or to make plans to set up a meeting for a proposal.
Frequently asked questions
- What kinds of projects do you take on?
Editorial, documentary, portraiture, and photojournalism. I’m less suited to commercial lifestyle or product photography — that’s not where my work lives. - Do you work outside New York?
Yes. A significant portion of my archive was made on extended stays abroad. I’ve lived in several countries and I’m extremely comfortable working in unfamiliar cities and cultures. - Do you offer exclusive rights?
Available on a case-by-case basis — get in touch to discuss. - What are your rates?
Day rates and project fees vary depending on scope, usage, and timeline. I don’t publish fixed rates because most projects are different. Send me the details and I’ll give you a straight answer.
